The Second Global Mobile Gaming Conference (GMGC2013) will take place on May 6th, 2013 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. Shang Jin (70yx.com) and Frank Wu (Ourgame) have confirmed attendance at the event, and will be participating in a panel which will discuss the future of seasoned gaming companies, joining others like Kingsoft Games and Guangyu Online, to discuss how they will move from their successes in traditional gaming to the modern scene.
Shang Jin, the founder and CEO of Kylin, is a famous game producer in China, who has led the development of well-known games such as “The First Myth” and “Dragon Oath” from Sohu & Kingsoft.
From its inception in 2007 till now, Genghis Khan and Painted Skin World developed by Kylin have won awards “The Golden Plume Award-Most Anticipated Game” and “The Golden Plume-Most popular Game” more than once, for which Shang Jin has been awarded “The Top Ten Influential People” by the Administration of Press and Publication twice. In the Annual Conference of Game Industry 2010, Kylin Culture introduced the concept of synergy of film, game and mobile for the first time and established two subsidiaries: Kylin Films and Kylin Interactive to tap into movie and mobile industry.
In 2012, Painted Skin 2 produced by Kylin Films broke records of Chinese films in domestic market, coupled with the immediate and successful launches of an online game and a mobile game based on the movie, becoming the first exemplar of the industry synergy concept it introduced. Shang Jin was awarded “Best Internet Entrepreneur” for such accomplishment at the Internet Grand Annual Ceremony held in December 2012.
Frank Wu is a famous online gaming expert, who is right now the CEO of Beijing's Ourgame.com computer technology studio. Frank joined Ourgame in July 2004, where he served first as CFO, then as Vice President before finally taking the CEO mantle in 2007. In 2006, he was responsible for creating an open gaming platform strategy which let Ourgame and other developers collaborate for mutual benefit.
The panel, entitled “Transitions: Industry Insiders Go from Traditional to Modern,” will feature the CEOs from Kingsoft Games, Guangyu Online, Kunlun Network, imedia-asia, and the president of Shanda Games, in addition to the two just-confirmed CEOs.
